The first 3 objects I made in the ceramic station. It was my first time there, I got an introduction and figured out where I needed to get all the supplies.
The second day I went to the station I experimented with the turn table. With help of the teachers I made my first bowl.
The third station day I continued working with the turntable. The first bowl I made with more stiff clay that consisted little stones. It made the bowl more steady.

But after working some time on the table the clay hurt my hands and I chose to work with smoother clay, this was more soft but was harder to work with because it collapsed more easily.
The first two sketches I made for some ceramic objects which I also ended up creating.
My plan was to learn about the whole process of making a ceramic object, from sculpting to painting to glazing. Here I made sketches of what I would like the painting or prints of the objects to look like.

Sadly I wasn't able to finish my objects on time. I've never worked with ceramic before so it was also my first time ever at the ceramics station at school. So I was not familiar with the times it was best to bake and glaze, I figured I didn't plan this right and that's why I'm not finished with my objects on time.

I also got the wrong information from one of the teachers that I could glaze my stuff on Thursday, which was actually Friday. I'm going to continue working in this project on the hand in day (Friday) and the week after until school closes. I'm feeling super curious and motivated to work with this technique more!

My goal was to explore a new station, work with new materials and in 3D. I'm happy that I achieved this goal, by just going to the station for multiple days and asking a lot of questions to the teachers there I now feel really comfortable working there and know all the tools and techniques. Besides that I now know their planning and the times the oven is on, so next time I probably will not deal with any time problems anymore!

On the right side you can see the inspiration behind this project. This is also the ceramic style I like and I'm kind of going for on my own objects, so you will have an idea of how it will look like when it's finished!

For my plus plan I experimented with making different ceramic objects. My goal was to explore a new station, and make more 3D objects. Hereby I got to know the ceramic station better and learned all the techniques offered there. So next year I can easily work there again. On this hot glue page you can find my process and reflection!
